He leads a small team conducting materials characterization experiments and fabricating Rutherford cables, including the MQXFA cables for the US contribution to HL-LHC. He is also the chair of the US Magnet Development Program\u2019s Conductor Procurement and R&amp;D (USMDP-CPRD) advisory committee. Prior to joining LBNL in 2013, he worked at ITER handling the worldwide benchmarking of Nb-Ti and Nb<sub>3<\/sub>Sn strands and assisting the procurement of superconductors, and at CERN performing advanced materials characterization.
