  • Outline

Experimental research using spectroscopy and high-speed camera measurements in torus devices such as the Large Helical Device LHD (National Institute for Fusion Science), W7-X Stellarator (Germany), and EAST Tokamak (China). Research is aiming at mitigating the excessive heat load on the device wall in fusion reactors.

Circularly polarized light irradiation to amino acid samples are being performed at UVSOR-III (Institute for Molecular Science) and HiSOR (Hiroshima University) to verify the theory of extraterrestrial origin of homochirality. In addition, experiments to simulate interstellar plasmas and divertor plasmas of fusion reactors by photoionization of gases using synchrotron radiation are in progress.
