Outline
Magnetic reconnection is a phenomenon in a plasma, through which magnetic field lines are disconnected once and reconnected. It is well known that high-energy plasmas are generated by magnetic reconnection in some cases. The important issue relating to the above is how magnetic energy is converted to kinetic and thermal energy of plasmas. I investigate where and how acceleration and heating of plasmas occur in magnetic reconnection by means of theory and computer simulations.
