Optical vortices are widely investigated to be applied in various optical technologies, such as high-capacity optical communications, optical tweezers and so on. In particular, it was found in 2021 that the millimeter wave vortex fields can propagate in a magnetized weakly ionized plasma, in which the plane wave is cut-off condition. This leads to a possibility that higher efficiency plasma heating is achieved by the millimeter wave vortex than conventional plane wave. we investigate the propagation of the millimeter wave vortex fields in the magnetized plasma by using finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method.
